Natural remedies for Constipation are varied and
very useful. The remedies that work best for constipation are listed
below.
I deal with this problem in the clinic and private
consultation almost daily. What I can tell you is that even for the
worst cases of constipation the following remedies work amazingly well.
- Digestive
Enzymes
- Probiotics
- Regular Exercise
- Herbs such as Senna
- Nutrients
such as high doses of Magenesium
- Manual Therapy (massage techniques)
- Dietary
Choices (learn what foods cause constipation here)
- Water
consumption
The most useful remedies that we use with the most success are digestive
enzymes, probiotics and
manual
therapy.
Herbs can be useful ful but they are only masking the problems cause.
Enzymes and Probiotics go straight to the cause of the problem.
Minerals
such as magnesium also will only treat the symptoms because it
forces more water to the colon which helps the bowel motility.
Wouldn't more water consumption due the same thing? My experience says
absolutely (please see the water consumption page above).
Manual thaerapy or massage techniques can be very useful to remove
myofascial triggerpoints that may be present in the abdomen.
These tissue restrictions can be due to previous traumas to the abdomen
or some inherent tension in the connective tissue of the abdomen that
is causing constipation by restrictive tension on the natural
intestinal movement.
Sometimes just a change in diet is enough to relieve constipation.
